At Turnitin, we are committed to accessibility. As part of that commitment, we work toward ensuring that Turnitin’s products align with applicable web accessibility laws. In practice, we use 3rd party accessibility experts to evaluate our products against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard and we share their findings through our product Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs).
Turnitin continues to develop our accessibility program and capabilities so that we are designing, developing, and testing our products for conformance to accessibility standards. We make accessibility a priority for our product, engineering, and design functions by assigning clear accessibility objectives and responsibilities, and our products are designed and built using an in-house design system, containing accessible, reusable, customizable components and patterns.
We engage in both internal and external accessibility evaluations and provide our conformance via a date-stamped ACR.

Examplify includes a number of features designed to accommodate exam takers with accessibility needs. These include features that are available to exam takers within Examplify, as well as accommodation settings that can be enabled for individuals with specific needs.

Exam takers may also be assigned one or more accommodations, granting them additional exam time (as a percentage of the exam’s time limit), allowing them to take their exam in a “non-secure” context, or permitting access to necessary third-party software or tools. Accommodations are assigned by institutional and departmental administrators, and can be configured to apply to all assessments delivered to the accommodated exam taker.
Examplify for Windows is compatible with JAWS (version 2022 and higher) and NVDA screen reader technology. Examplify for Mac is compatible using the VoiceOver screen reader technology built into macOS. Users may also utilize Examplify for iPad, which supports iPad’s built-in VoiceOver capabilities. Alternatively, exam managers may grant a non-secure accommodation to enable individual exam takers to utilize other third-party applications, including assistive technology.
