This Pecha Kucha session was composed of two sub-sessions regarding proctoring:
The Remote Examination Experience of Student Pharmacists During the COVID-19 Pandemic
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the remote testing experience of first and second-year student pharmacists using ExamSoft at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. One-hundred and fourteen students completed a survey over the ease of transition to remote testing, remote testing environment, concentration, stress and anxiety, and assessment of knowledge and academic dishonesty. This study also determined student testing preferences such as favored time of day and location for testing. Based on responses, PharmD students had an overall positive experience with remote testing resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
After viewing this session participants will:
– Understand the impact of remote testing using ExamSoft’s ExamMonitor feature on student pharmacists.
– See student pharmacists’ preferences on when and where they take online exams.
– Gain ideas to consider implementing at their college with regards to remote testing.
Hybrid Proctoring: The Ultimate Long Term Solution
The COVID pandemic has caused a transformational change in education globally. However, despite this, the value of summative question banks remains. Large, risk-averse institutions have had to quickly amend processes and procedures to enable large-scale high-stakes summative assessments to continue.
We have developed a system for hybrid proctoring using Examplify and ExamMonitor enabling students to have the option of sitting the same exam on-site or at home at the same time whilst maintaining the integrity of the exams and catering for all students’ accommodations. We will discuss the process of hybrid proctoring using the ExamSoft platform.
After viewing this session participants will:
– Understand the different types of remote proctoring
– Understand linked assessments
– Understand ExamMonitor
– Understand how to cater for student accommodations
