Many characteristics of a nursing program serve as measures of successful outcomes. More than ever one of these measurements is NCLEX first time pass rates. A comprehensive testing program integrated across the curriculum is the cornerstone for achieving consistently high first time pass rates. Critical facets of a testing program include curricular considerations, faculty development, faculty and student testing policies, use of item analysis for quality improvement and initiating test taking strategies for students. These facets will be explored in-depth in this presentation.
