About The Panel

Dr. Kristy Lucas


Kristy Lucas, Pharm.D., FCCP, CTTS is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy in West Virginia. Leading up to her current role, she has served as the Pharmacy Practice Department Interim-Chair for UCSOP, Adjunct Associate Professor for the West Virginia University School of Medicine and, for many years, Adjunct Assistant Professor with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. She held dual academic appointments as an Associate Professor in the Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine of WVU’s Charleston campus for 10 years.

Her clinical practice has focused on acute care, ambulatory care, and cardiology. Dr. Lucas is certified as a specialist in tobacco treatment, medication therapy management, cardiovascular risk modification, and as an immunizing pharmacist. She is also an item-writer for the NAPLEX exam. In 2015, Dr. Lucas was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Dr. Lucas graduated from Campbell University School of Pharmacy (now Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences) in North Carolina and completed residency programs at Charleston Area Medical Center in West Virginia.

Dr. Leah Hall


Leah Hall, PharmD, BCPS, BCGP, is the Executive Director of Assessment and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy (UCSOP) in West Virginia. Dr. Hall received her PharmD degree from West Virginia University. She then completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency and a Pharmacy Residency in Geriatrics at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) in Charleston. Dr. Hall obtained Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy and Geriatrics and earned certificates in the ACCP Teaching/Learning Academy and ASHP Pain and Palliative Care Traineeship. Her practice site is located at CAMC with the inpatient palliative care team, where she provides expertise in pain and symptom management.

Dr. Hall’s interest in assessment originated from her involvement on the Academic Affairs Committee at the UCSOP. This led to her being the ExamSoft superuser at the University, including development and implementation of an item tagging structure. Dr. Hall also serves as the co-advisor of the student chapter of the Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International (CPFI) and Geriatrics Track at the UCSOP.

Dr. C. Leiana Oswald


C. Leiana Oswald, PharmD, BCGP, is Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs for Roseman University of Health Sciences. She oversees all aspects of Roseman’s curriculum for both the Nevada and Utah Doctor of Pharmacy programs. With 17 years of experience in Roseman’s unique Six-Point-Mastery-Learning-Model pedagogy, Dr. Oswald is an expert in the design and application of Roseman’s competency-based education, block-based curriculum, assessment learning, active and collaborative learning, classroom as a teacher, and early experiential learning. She also actively participates in the college’s accreditation process with the American Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU).

Alejandra Zertuche


Alejandra Zertuche is an interdisciplinary scientist and the Chief Executive Officer of Enflux, an ed-tech startup that transforms educational data into actionable insights to improve decision making that impacts student outcomes and success.

Alejandra’s areas of expertise include investigating problems with the performance of processes, finance, statistics, biomedical informatics, and academic assessment and accreditation. Alejandra serves as a Director for TransPecos Banks, was recognized as a San Antonio Business Journal 40 under 40, and a Texas Top 50 Women to Watch by The Society Diaries. Alejandra graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from St. Mary’s University and an M.S. in Biomedical Informatics from UT Health at Houston.
